My toshiba laptop c580 was messing up so I tryed to refomat it but it was unsucsessful now when I try to boot it it's says no bootable device please insert bootable disc and press any key .. Is this because I don't have windows 8 on it anymore?

Even though the reformat failed, the hard drive was still partially formatted, erasing the operating system (Windows 8). When you format a disk, you are effectively erasing the disk for use by certain software. At this point you will have to reinstall an operating system. To do this you will need to boot from operating system installation disc.

If you feel uncomfortable performing the installation yourself, I would recommend taking the laptop (and install disc, if you have one) to a computer repair technician. If you don't have an installation disc, your repair technician can acquire a copy for you, though this should cost extra.
