My trolling motor will not stop turning when I have the copilot wireless remote pluged in. My foot peddels work when I plug that in. I tested my battery in the FOB and it tested 3 volts and it's a 3 volt battery. I pushed in the button on the side of the receiever but it did not beep

The remote is making the unit short.The remote is dead.So its not commanding even when you press the button the side of the receiver.
Get the wireless remote checked.There are many other too facing this same type of problem with remote.In some cases there is chirping noise coming from remote.

I pulled my battery out of the remote and the trolling motor still kept turning when I pluged in in. I pressed the botton on the side of the reciever and It did not beep. I seem to think it is more of a problem on the reciever side. If I buy a new remote, how will it be able to program if the motor keeps turning and push botton doesn't seem to work. I'm wondering if there is reset button I can push?
It has to be the reciever and not the remote. I took the battery out and the trolling motor still kept turning. Is there a reset on the reciever? I have my douts that if I buy a knew remote it would work.
