My troy built 5550 10 horsepower generator is running to slow when started. It should run at a higher rpm
It runs at a slow Idle speed . I have to push on the rod and hold it in place to make it run faster. It is a new carburetor.

If there isn't a set screw on the carburetor for idle there is a metal tab you can bend to set the rpm. you will also need to check the voltage to be sure that when you speed up the rpms. that it isn't to much and burn up what you use on the generator.
