My tv has been fine until recently! when i switch it on no picture comes on and just clicks constantly? after a while it does come on

This is faulty capacitors in your power supply, Take the back of your TV look at the power supply towards the top right hand side you will notice roughly 4 or 5 capacitors that all have domed tops and sometimes leaking a brown liquid substance.
These are usually 10V / 16V 1000UF if your no good with a soldering iron then get a friend to do it for you.
It is IMPORTANT you leave the tv off as this fault sometimes messes the EPROM chip up and you dont want to get into that!
Capacitors if your in the UK can be bought from RS COMPONENTS OR MAPLINS.
USA i would use Radio Shack
Once replaced your Tv will power straight up with no problems.
