My Velodyne CT150 was distorted for a while. Then the sound is completely gone. I checked the speaker, but seemed to be working. What could be the problem?

Define "seemed to be working". Is it or ain't it? A huge clue that something is in distress or having death throes would be distortion.
Either the driver is hot or the amp is shot. You can test the driver by floating it from the amp and attempting to drive it with any other amp channel, or just touch the speaker leads to a small battery. It will click or make static sounds.
