My water was crystal clear when delivered. I added the salt, ran the filter pump for 24 hrs as instructed. Turned on my Intex saltwater pump and within an hour water is green. Cannot find anything on this - is it normal, what metals are in the water that could do this, nothing. The manual doesn't really provide start up directions. HELP! How do I correct this?
Pool & Spa - Intex - Automatic Salt Water System for Above Ground Saltwater Pool
I would take a water sample to a pool store and have them check it. I have used the Intex Salt Water System for two years now and LOVE it! At the start of the season, clean and fill the pool, 120 lbs of salt for my size pool, green light comes on, chlorinator does it's thing. Water has been crystal clear.
I am not impressed at all with these salt water chlorinators.Shock the water and keep the filter running next day add a powdered chlorine.filter still running. check the balance with test strip in about four hours. If chlorine level is good start vacuming the algee off the bottom of the pool. Now throw away the salt generator and stay with the chlorine packs every week to two weeks continue to monitor with test strips
