My wd passort HD is not recongnized on windows. I restarted the system and plugged to another systems. Same problem not working at all. Showing H drive only. What to do?. There is no grinding noise or nothing from hard drive. looks like the same smooth functioning but not detecting at all. Need help it is very urgent data. Thanks in advance for any solution. Need Gurus ASAP

Remove the plastic casing. peel the foil back. slowly remove the "usb card front section" from the "hard drive section".
purchase a "FREE AGENT GOFLEX UPGRADE CABLE - USB 3.0...MADE BY SEAGATE" (about $20 at BestBuy). plug it ino the hard drive section, plug the other end into you computer
I am not a GURU but, I think if it isn't working, and I were you, I would try removing the drive from the Passport case and install it in a computer, or buy an external drive case. Hopefully the problem is just in the ide to usb converter. If that doesn't work you will have to send it to a data recovery place.
