My Whirpool LGB6000KQ1 Dryer -- The drum won't stop turning when I open the door and the light doesn't come on either
The dryer seems to heat up OK, but when I open the door, the drum DOES NOT STOP. It keeps running. In order to stop the drum, I need to turn the dial manually to Off. Normally, the drum is supposed to stop turning anytime I open the door. Also, the light bulb inside the drum also does not turn on. So I went to Home Depot and purchased a replacement 10w Appliance bulb, installed it, but even the new light bulb does NOT light up. What could cause the light not to work, and at the same time, make the drum keep running when I open the door? Please help !! I hate to call a service guy if this is something relatively simple. You have a faulty door switch. Here is the replacement switch.
