My wife turned on our X1a and the whole thing died. She said she heard about half the normal "beep" before it completely shut down -- no LEDs, no fan, nothing. (I'm currently away with the military and can't look at it myself.) She toggled the switch, tested the outlet, changed the batteries in the remote, etc. From what I've read in earlier posts, it could be a fuse, a bad color wheel, a dirty filter, or several other things. Anyone with some insight so I can point her in the right direction in my absence? Thanks
The most inexpensive thing to change would be the power input board, which is what the plug plugs into, if that isn't the problem, you can look at the glass fuse on the power supply next to the input board to see if it is blown. if it is the fuse then the power supply needs to be replaced unless you know someone to desolder and resolder a thru hole fuse. Also, make sure the lamp door is shut properly. If the door doesn't push the safety switch in it will not complete the cicuit to allow power to the projector.
