My Windows XP Pro install disk will not open the Recovery console. When I use the floppy recovery disks this is the error message I get: file asc.sys caused an unexpected error (4096) at line 3540 in d:\xpsprtm\base\boot\setup\setup.c
Open your cpu cabinet and find motherboard then refix RAM memory in motherboard. Then try again to boot with windows disk. Reattch all connection to hard drive. Then when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" key to enter in bios. Then make sure harddrive is recognized there. and make sure in boot option set first boot device as windows disk. If still same problems then there must be some corrupt fine on install disk you need another disk. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.
Well it seems that your Windows XP pro install disk is damaged and floppy also, you need a new disk to install the operating system. from where is purchase that disk (they issue you a new in very low price). please post some information about the model number of your pc, if it was an branded PC)

Hi Lareelman
it sounds like somehow your floppy disk got corrupted. They really arent too reliable.
You can also go to the recovery console by using a windows xp cd.
Thanks Adi
