My yard machine wont start, i have spark, fuel, and compression. yes there is gas in it. has oil. starter cranks and I pulled the carb off and cleaned the float and everything. the starter almost looks like its not cranking hard enough, could this be a solenoid problem? im not sure what my next step is. can someone help?
Probably not the solenoid they usually work or they don't. Slow cranking could be due to weak battery or bad connections, check those. If all is ok starter motor could be bad. Always check simplest first.
is it possible that the starter will turn the engine but not enough to start it?is it possible that the starter will turn the engine but not enough to start it?
Yes it is possible, but if its turning that slow it would be very noticeable. If you have amp meter you can check and see how many amps starter is drawing. You can also use a jumper cable and jump from positive post on battery to the connection on the starter motor, with the key in the on position it should start. See if it turns faster, if it does the problem is elsewhere. Sure battery is ok?Yes it is possible, but if its turning that slow it would be very noticeable.
