I just picked up the same mower at a garage sale, has the same problem. It runs a short time when you prime the carb and then quits. Pulled off the air filter and took a can of carb cleaner with a straw atatched to the nozzel. If you look down into the carb you will see two holes on the base of the carb, the larger one is for the long bolt that holdes the air filter on and to the left of that is the primary fuel suply. Spray the carb cleaner into that for a second or two. Reasemble and give it a try, worked fine for me.
