Is it getting to much feul? May need to clean the carb if its been sitting with gas in it. Is the spark plug wet? Make sure the insulater on the business end of the plug is in good shape, no cracks, or erosion of the spark gap. Is the air filter clean and in good shape? Are you running old gas? If so try draining it and replaceing with fresh. These are the basic checks for any engine, beyond that it's looking for gasket leaks around the head and cylander and compression testing. You may not have the tools to do the more in depth tests, so a trip to the dealership or service center may be in order.
