Please specify which Server 2K8 version you're using. If it's W2K8r1, and you had installed SP1 as of this posting date, their software didn't support SP1. They recently updated vSpace to support that so please either remove SP1 and retest, or update your vSpace software to the current version and you should be all set. Additionally, if you're server/host is a domain member, make sure it's a domain member when you install vSapce as the installation will manage the firewall port settings for you and many times those firewall port settings change when a system as added to the domain membership.
