I have a Philips universal remote for which I need a universal code. I can program it for my TV by continually pressing the power button until the TV turns off.

I cannot do the same for the Comcast cable box. I stopped trying after about 300 presses. I do not want to wear it out.

I have changed the batteries several times.

I have looked for codes unsuccessfully.
