Need help silencing an LG top load direct drive washer (WT5101H)
Frequently as the tub rotates back and forth, it will make (for lack of a better description) a grunting noise. I have a recording that I can provide. Any help in resolving this issue would be appreciated.

It sounds like the suspension dampers need to be replaced. Lubricant wears away and when the plastic meet metal it will make those odd noises as tub sways to center itself. I recommend replacing all 4 suspension dampers.
A bit more information. Now the washer makes the noise each time it turns in the opposite direction. Quiet on spin cycle. Noise is heard on test #7. When running through test #7, I tilted the washer up to look underneath and it sounds like the sound is coming from the bottom center where the clutch is located. Could it be the clutch?
