Need install disk for ifp-890
Thanks for your response however, I wasn't guite clear. The laptop I'm using now has never had the iriver software install on it. I know longer have my old laptop. Windows attemptes to install drivers & software but can't so it ask for the install disk. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks, Pete

No problem try this link it is the firmware for the device just make sure it works (compatible) with your new operating system
http://local.iriver.com/usa/lounge/loungeList.asp?selectPart=cateCode&findWord=01 there is options for drivers and firmware but as you can see it has evolved so match your model with firmware and operating system (version of Windows) you are using so it will work properly.
Download the correct driver, save it to your desktop and when you connect your device and you're asked to install driver click on browse and direct it to the file on your desktop, click next, continue or install and that will load the driver for the device.
firmware= software on mp3 device driver=software on computer
sometimes when you upgrade the firmware on device you can flash it>>> it means you can erase everything and make it unusable so be carefull
