It jammed at some point and the motor-driven worm gear wore down all the teeth in one spot on the gear that drives the blades back and forth. Now whenever the blade feels the slightest bit of resistance it will turn until it hits the spot without teeth and it will jam and squeal as the worm gear tries to finish eating the gear. This knife is pretty old, apparently. I'm having problems finding this part. Thanks for any help!
