Need to fix AC adapter plug in
Hi, I have an Averatec C3500. Works great except the plug in for the adapter has come loose. It should be an easy enough fix, if I could get to the thing, but opening the chassis is proving harder than I thought. I have unscrewed every screw I can find, and still find that it is hung together somehow at the back of the device. I don't want to force it and break something important. Any advice, other than take it to a shop?

I'm trying to repair the same thing right now.
to get the case apart, the hangup screws are under the keyboard. to remove the keyboard, you must remove the small plastic (1"x8") strip that has the power button and indicator leds on it.
to remove it, go along the top of the keyboard, closest to the screen, there are 5 plastic tabs to be released, then pop only that side closest to the keyboard up, then, slowly work it around until it comes free. flip the keyboard towards you, and carefully remove its ribbon cable by first popping up the sockets (on the mb) retainer.
then you can get those last screws out and have at it.
peace!
Holy crappo! almost forgot, before you try to pull the plastic panel loose, there are 2 screws holding it's back side.
you have to take off the small plastic panel on the back of the laptop, its 2 screws are on the back face of the laptop. take those out, remove the small plastic panel that covers the back of the monitor swivel, then you can get the screws off for the long panel.
