Need to replace cartridge. The cap at the end is supposed to come off by turning clockwise. Don't want to force. The faucet is not stainless. It is impact plastic for lack of better description
There is a small rectangular hole at the bottom where the cap meets the base of the lever housing. Will the use of a screwdriver work to snap the cap off?

watch the video. If it matches your faucet , proceed to disassembly.
Once removed follow the following:
Be sure to do a quick debris flush of the faucet (not shown in video) by opening the stops a bit. prepare for the squirt before doing so. once clean, I recommend silicon grease on all seals screws. You can acquire a small amount from an auto parts store. A small ketchup squeeze package type for auto ignition wires is usually available. Do not over apply. A very thin coat is all that is needed. It will protect and lubricate. Vaseline can be used also but with less effectiveness.
