I just replaced the mother board battery myself. You can buy the battery ( A panasonic 3v) from ebay for about 4$. To replace the mother board battery I did it without the soldering Iron, as I feared damaging the circuitry. THe new battery works fine. My solution requires you to have a mac 1200 that is not being picked up alot because I just put a new battery where the old one was. The old battery is soldered in place, I broke that with plyers.
A small quarter sized battery is what is needed. A soldering iron is required for this job and the unit must be opened up and taken apart. Best to have authorized service company do this. Not GE, they charge a ton. If you want to try yourself the battery is a 3 Volt .255Ah Lithium ion. Buy it at R and D Batteries. Our company does the repair if you need help. [email protected]
