Need to replace waxed thread on drive shaft of Regal Kitchen Pro K6725 bread machine
The drive belt on this bread machine has shredded. When we opened up the machine, we saw not only shreds of the belt but also the partial unraveling of the waxed thread that is wound around the drive shaft. We started to remove the thread, then realized it might be part of the mechanism. However, much of it had already unwound prior to our efforts, and it is now a mess of tangled threads. What should we use to replace the waxy thread? There are some waxed threads online, but they appear to be too thick. We have found a replacement belt, but not sure we want to buy it if the whole thing won't work.

The "waxed threads" are the remains of your belt. You need to remove all that stuff completely and throw it away and try installing your new belt. There are videos of how to do that on youtube. By the way does your machine have little teeth on both wheels or are the wheels smooth where the belt was?
