My neighbour has set a password on my router how do i reset the router in order to block them , i tried reset from the back of the router but no luck , i also tried to reset from the system but no luck
Doing this is a little bit complicated if you do not know how to manage a wireless router. I strongly suggest that you contact your Internet provider if they are the one who installed it for you or you can contact the manufacturer for live technical support.
Anyways here's the step on how to access your wireless router. Normally wireless device has security features. You can setup security features such as client restrictions, MAC address filtering, WEP, and WPA. For home use, you can use the WEP feature.
You can set up the Router’s advanced functions easily through your web browser, without having to install additional software onto the computer. There are no disks to install or keep track of and, best of all, you can make changes and perform setup functions from any computer on the network quickly and easily.
You can download this manual first for instructions. Read andunderstand before you configure. Check if you have the same model. Butmost likely, it's the same GUI base.
Using your Internet browser, you can access the Router’s Web-Based Advanced User Interface. In your browser, type “192.168.2.1” (you do not need to type in anything else such as “http://” or “www”). Then press the “Enter” key.
Note: To configure a wireless, I suggest that you need to use a cable that came with your wireless router so that you won't get disconnected after you have configure it.
WARNING: If you are configuring the Wireless G Router or access point from a computer with a wireless client, you will need to ensure that security is turned ON for this wireless client. If this is not done, your client will lose its wireless connection.
Next window will require a password. Before you can change any setting, you need to log in with a password. I you have not yet set a custom password, then leave this field blank and click submit.
Click on security on the left hand side under the wireless option. Check manual for instructions under page 53.
