Nespresso Maestria pump isn't primed
My new Nespresso Maestria will not run water through. I have filled the tank and pressed the large cup button. The steam wand works and I have ran the steam until it stopped. Still, no water run through to produce espresso. Any ideas?

We had the same problem and were ready to return the device when we were able to fix it. Here is what we did:
1. Fill the water tank all of the way and place in machine
2. Let the tank sit in position for a few hours (we let ours sit for 3)
3. Run the descaling option
4. Run a few cycles of the "longo"
5. If the machine is still not working repeat the process (Ours started to run after the 2nd cycle)
It just appears that the pumps are shipping with air in them and needs patience to get it out. Once you get it going though you won't regret it :)
I fill the water tank full.
Then wait for about 15 minutes.
And tap the top of machine gently.
Then the "tick" sound has came.
Push the lungo button a few times(2~3) without capsule.
And voila!!!! now It work now :)
Had the same problem. Bought this for my wife this XMAS. Pump running,no water would flow brand new out of the box. Tried everything, descaling, emptying unit, adding vinegar to the water, letting it sit etc. Repeated various steps over 2 days and am now happy to say the unit is now working delicious espressos and a happy wife! If you have the no water issue be patient as hard as it is and just keep trying.
I have the same problem. Took it back to the dealer (Williams Sonoma) and they had 2 others in stock. Neither one would pump water to the coffee cup, but the steam works. Then a lady came in with another one, same problem.... That's 4 in a row that didn't work!
Waiting for a replacement from Nespresso, the rep in the store was nice enough to lend me a Pixi until I get a new Maestria.
Anybody know how to manually prime one of these maestria machines? The pump runs, but no water flows.
As per the nespresso troubleshooting site, with the reservoir full, pull the top latching handle all the way back for a few seconds, then with the handle still up, press the start button. Water should then start to flow. That primes the pump when it's dry, and then your machine should work. I would imagine the clerk at WS didn't know how to properly initiate the machine. I have had one for more than 10 years. This fix just worked for me after some houseguest ran the machine dry.
