Computers & Internet - NetGear - WGT624 Wireless Router
The first thing to try is to reboot your router. Most routers have an on/off switch -- switch it off for 30 seconds, then switch it back on and see if you can connect to the Internet once it boots back up.
If that doesn't work and you can connect to the Internet by plugging your PC directly into the wall jack, there might be a problem with the router's WAN port. What kind of Internet service do you have -- DSL? Cable? Fiber optic?
Also, when you plugged your computer directly into the wall to access the Internet, did you use the same cable that goes from the wall to the router? If not, it might be the cable that's bad -- try using a different cable from the router to the wall.
I have wireless LAN. Not dsl or fibre optic. I HAVE used the same cable to connect directly to my pc to test the wire. I do think it have something to do with the port. This happened after a power outage. When the power came back on, the netgear internet did not come back on.

It definitely sounds like that WAN port has gone bad on the router. If the Internet connection works through your computer and the router's other functions are all operational, there's really no other variable it could be than the port itself or something internal to the router that controls the port.
Unfortunately, there's really no way to fix that yourself, and taking it somewhere to have it repaired will almost certainly be more expensive than replacing it. Newer routers are coming down in price -- you can get a TP-Link wireless router that supports 802.11b and g like your router does, but also supports 802.11n, for only $21.99 if you buy it by 7/15. I'm not sure if that particular router has everything you need, but there are many more options that will still be cheaper than trying to get your current router repaired.
In the meantime, I'm not sure what operating system you're running, but if it's a current version of Windows, you should be able to plug your main PC into the wall jack and enable Internet Connection Sharing so that the other computers on your network can still get online by using your PC as their router. This may slow the network down some, but it's only intended as a temporary fix until you purchase a new router.

At this point I would suggest a power drain on both Router as well as computer, to do so, Turn off the router and computer, uplug the power cable, and keep on holding the power button (both router and computer) for 20 secs (make sure power cable is unplugged). Now pluggin and try to connect to Internet. If still not, continue with the below steps:
The best way to check if the computer can access to Internet is to boot the computer to "Safemode with Netwroking", to do so, restart the computer and as soon as it restarts keep on tapping F8 key, now select "Safemode with Networking" from the Advance boot menu. Login to Windows & select the Wireless Network and try to connect to internet. If you are able to connect to Internet then the issue is with the firewall on you computer, contact the firewall manufacturer for settings. If you are still unable to connect to Internet, then the internet setting are not correct, you may need to contact the ISP or router manufacturer.

Hello. First of all call your internet provider and report the problem to them as it could well be their equipment and not yours. Ask them to check your signal strength. Finally ask them to talk you through the process of reconnecting to their internet connection. J.

I mentioned that I get Internet from my provider IF I plug it in directly without the router.
