Network shows the network. When I run diagnostics it simply says that I am connected and the internet connection is working fine. Airport says I am connected. However, when I try and connect to the internet is simply does not connect. It does nothing. I have checked the wireless security settings. It is set to WPA2. I have now been troubleshooting for what seems like forever. Any advise will be much appreciated
Computers & Internet - Trendware - TEW-652BRP Router
Hi there, First of all, we need to check if your MAC ia able to acquire a valid IP address from your Trendware Router. Please follow these steps to check for your IP address. Click the Apple logo on the top left of the screen > Select "System Preferences" > Select "Network" under the Internet and Network section then select which connection you'd like to check in the Show drop-down menu. If you're hooked up via Ethernet, select "Built In Ethernet." If you have a wireless network, select "AirPort." Select "TCP/IP" on the Network screen and view your computer's IP address on the subsequent screen displayed on your Mac. Your Trendware router, by default, has a static IP address of 192.168.0.1 so your MAC should obtain an IP address on that same range. (e.g. 192.168.0.XXX) If you are getting a 169.254.XXX.XXX ip address, then that means that your MAC is not able to communicate properly to your Trendware Router. You need to check and recheck if the WPA2 you entered is correct. If your MAC is getting a valid IP address (e.g. 192.168.0.XXX) then the problem lies between your Router and the Internet. But since one of your computers is able to get to the net, then try these steps to check your connectivity. Open utilities > terminal then type "ping -c 4 google.com" without the quotes. You should get a reply from google if you are successfully connected to the internet. Please post here the details you find so I can provide you more detailed steps for further troubleshooting. Hope this helps
