Light bulb could be burnt out. Fuse could be blown, but less likely. Or neutral sensor in the transmission could be faulty. The bulb is the easiest to check/change, or the fuse to check.
The sensor.. well, that could be on the case (easy, check your wiring diagram), or could be a wire into the case and the sensor inside which isn't so easy.
If it's not the bulb you may want to decide if the cost of a mechanic looking into your case is worth not having the light.
