Never used it in the two years that we had it until yesterday. didn't need to ....was gave a present..... just stopped working was not overheating or anything...any suggestions being that the warrity is no good

Could possibly be dust on the bushings. Try giving a good blow out with compressed air. Possibly try to clean the bushings. If it whines, it could also be jammed in the impact housing(where the mechanism vibrates).
