The cartridge must be reset. if u don't have the resetter it's better to bring back the cartridge from where you buy it, and change it for another working.
Try cleaning the contact points on the cartridge and inside the carriage of the printer. If there is a dirty contact then the cartridge code might not be read by the printer properly. I suggest cleaning it with a cotton swap and some 98-99% Isopropyl Alcohol then rubbing then with the clean eraser of a pencil. If that doesn't help you might have a bad chip in the new cartridge, happens. Return the cartridge to the store for a replacement.
Please ensure that you had bought the catridge for your model. You can check in their website regarding this. IF correct, then try taking out and reinsert it.

Check the catridge model like #22,#23,#24 for your printer model,use the correct model number it will fix this problem.

Take the cartrige out and re insert it again, you could also see if you can reset the printer.
