New walkies SX600R
I'm using the batteries that came with the unit and charged them for a good 15 hours they turn on, the qt is at 0 and off. Should there be a number that the top and bottom are set at? I keep changing them but it doesn't seem to matter they just aren't working back and forth.

You would have 3 sets of numbers: Frequency, Code and Qt. Setting your Qt to zero is good. You should also set your Code to zero if you are having difficulties. You can always add it back in later when you are more familiar with the radios. Look at your user guide and walk through the steps to set your Frequency and then your Code.
