Replace the sparks plugs, if the car is failing on one cylinder it will be hard to start.
Check the air intake and the air filter, if air filter is dirty replaced, only to test the car try starting with intake open and no air filter, if it starts it is an air intake problem.
Check the fuel filter and check that fuel have pressure, if fuel has no pressure it is either a faulty pump or an obstructed pipe.
Common cause for car not starting is distribution, with distribution rotor you often have to replace distributor cap or coil.
If it is electronic distribution you have to scan distribution module.
If you have an anti theft system, this can also cause the car not to start, usually you unlock anti theft with car key.
If it is none of the above, it can be a car computer problem, the car computer module (ECU) can be scanned using a code reader at any good garage, in this case the mechanic will get error codes from car ECU and be able to troubleshoot further the problem.
