No acceleration, over-revs, dies, power steering stopped working
1997 chevy lumina was driving fine and then the Volts light popped on. A few hours later, the car started but there was no response from the gas pedal (zero forward movement, the rpm's didn't change at all) In addition, the power steering went out (what?!). While the car was idling, the motor would randomly over-rev, then the rpm's would drop so low that the engine would die. I called a friend to help and by the time they arrived, the car won't even start, though it's trying. We towed it to auto zone, scanned it b/c it was throwing codes and got a read of P0108. MAP, MAF, stuck EGR valve, intake manifold vac leak or other? Cleaned MAS, noticed one of the throttle body cables seems like it has a lot of slack (red side, closest to the throttle body) I'm not sure how much is too much, though. Also replaced throttle body position sensor, no dice. Is the answer to push it into a lake? I'm willing.
