Unplug the shredder and look for sensors in the center of the opening in paper entry area. To find the sensors, lift the safety flap over the cutting mechanism. Use small pliers or tweezers to clear away any debris and chunks of papers stuck under the sensor and cutting mechanism. You may have paper chunks blocking the sensor in forward motion. This can happen after a reverse/backward operation.
There a forward/reverse switch located on the upper part that you must have inadvertently switched,in forward it runs off of the paper being fed manually into the unit thru a micro-switch,in reverse they run full time to back feed any paper that is jambed, make sure switch is properly positioned and then also make sure there are no paper scraps loged in the cutter allembly feed path
