No idea why it's not working
I pulled out our Sega Genesis (along with NES) today, opened up the box, took stuff out. It's a normal TV, nothing special HD or anything. Hooked up them all up, the NES works fine, was able to play Mario...but... The sega turns on fine, although there is just a black screen. No normal intro "Sega of America" or whatever it is, or the SEEEGAAAA logo. I've tried with to use it with a few games, no success. I took off the outer and inner covers, dusted it, made sure there was no food or fingernails in it...still doesn't work. No audio or video. It's on the right channel (I've tried 3 and 4 with the RF adapter). It seems to get some signal from the Sega, because the screen turns black from the white fuzzy-ness.
Anyone have any idea?

Well the RF Adaptors are not that great for the sega genny they seem to fail more times then not and if been sitting rolled up in a ball I would have to run a conclusion that the RF adaptor is pooched.
Another idea would pulling the top of the genny shell off and looking at where the RF jack is on the mainboard and looking to see if its burnt in any spots this could be the issue as well.
alot of people would still say its a cleaning issue either the game or the system needs cleaning but if you have done that already have you tryed using rubbing alcohal on a q-tip and run it along the carts contacts?
I ushally have a modified genesis laying around with A/V cables to be used instead of the RF cables that is another method you could try to if you into soldering at all or feel safe doing it. let me tell you besides fixing the controller port issue on a dreamcast the genesis AV mod is the easyest out there to do if you need or would like more info on this as well let me know and I will help you out
Also what model genny do you have model 1, 2 or 3?
dont forget to rate this solution thanks eh!
