Me to... My two... Fire & Fuel (diesels & turbines too)...!!
Acronyms = Gibberish: not helpful (malarkey).
Sadly the fewer words I get the greater challenge I feel.. The point of delving into what you might be saying between the lines... and what was learned from what few words offered... Ah the challenge!
You are holding back... (of no consequence) I didn't stop at the roadside (long long ago) by make or model... merely by need.
What I get from you is that you don't actually think you can get anything of value from this experience. I'm an old guy... used to stop by the roadside (back when automobiles were so wonderfully simple)... they only needed fire & fuel and those fabulous engines of yore... would roar gloriously to life... (maybe).
(Positive & negative battery ground)...
Put some battery on the fuel pump... If it starts... you have SURROUNDED the problem... (boom: job defined)...
Truth was the OLD cars were horrendous, huge/heavy conglomerations of a plethora of reasons to sit there & short out in many ways made inconceivable by modern technology... with poorly adjusted points, marginal capacitors... and primary voltage transformers that could hardly muster a spark... Let alone run or advance a spark once they started spinning... I knew these beasts merely by youthful poverty... I would either master them or walk home... a lot. Their electrical wires were covered in fabric (sucked up water wonderfully)... so... To the passing thought of stranded motorists...
That visage you held... add torrential rain... + bitter cold.
By pass all your electronic "stuff" put power at the pump.
I am by nature an efficiency engineer (lazy) & walking was quite out of the question. I figured if I stopped for them... they'd stop for me in my moment of need (with that belief & 55 years carrying my AAA card... they did (Sure they did: "golden rule"... my posterior).
New cars... with their computers seem to have some folks thinking there's a new magical mystique. The computer will do all/most the work for you... Just pat attention.
If it did start: (all you gotta do is look at it).
So while it would have been helpful to know what vehicle is spanking you... it is not essential... It's still Fire & Fuel.
Later date Fords have inertial fuel switches (from the early days of SUVs landing on their roofs (a lot) ...
If this is a by passes all your electronic "stuff"
So if this is a FOMOCO Product... it is time to look for that switch (usu: passenger side foot-well and follow owners manual instructions) To wit: push back down.
On-Board-Diagnostic systems can wipe the tears away faster... but the time tested & ME approved spark checker.... is great... If your nose works... you smell fuel...
You are off to a great start. With make. model & year your answer could have made all this... quite brief...
Factory+workshop+manuals are the absolute best... ELSE...
If you want to look at wiring diagrams... & technical service bulletins bbbind.com (eula... oops End User Licensing Agreements) are there to keep these very kind folks safe for sharing their wisdom... (just good business/thinking).
As for me on those OBD toys: I think they are cute.. I'm holding out for the CHEAP (but comprehensive) Bluetooth APP for that.
Sorry if you need a real one NOW... There are a fist-full of really good reasons your On-Board-Diagnostic read-out will show why your ECM/BCM... what-cha-ma-call-it... will/has stopped your car...
TYPICALLY none TRIVIAL...!!
Get ONE or HIRE a PROFESSIONAL. Routine maintenance is actually quite important...
Documents & tools are listed below! Hope this helped.
Anything more: comment me back... Else...
Good luck (Ta ta for now).

What make ,model an year vehicle ? Did you check for B+ voltage while cranking the engine ? On some makes the PCM supplies voltage only while cranking the engine , or first two seconds of key on .
