I assume you mean that the TV has no picture but is connected to an electrical outlet. The red light means that the TV power supply has power. If the power button on the left of the TV and the remote do not work to turn on the TV, then the connection between the power supply and the main board or the main board itself has a failure. The failure could be at the buttons if the remote works. The IR sensor could be bad if the power button works and no remote works. (Check the remote with a digital camera and a second person. Take the picture just as you press a button on the remote.)
