If you had sound before it's probably a cable connection that isn't in tight or in the wrong jack. Check both the computer and the monitor connections.
The sound out from your computer is the "green" jack. If you've tried that, look closely at your monitor to see if there's a volume control on it that got moved when you were moving the monitor to put the jack in.
Doesn't sound like there's anything wrong with your computer and speakers "usually" don't break. You can check the cable, then down to the monitor's internal amplifier.

Please share what your operating system you're using if this doesn't fix it.
You must run a speaker wire that is specific to your monitor to cause the speakers to work. Hook this wire up and you should be good to go.
