Northgate vt7v71 monitor power led will come on when i turn it on ,but get nothing on the screen . was wondering if there is a repair manual out for this monitor. have already plugged monitor into different computers so i know the monitor is the problem
You have to open uo the set and check for 12vdc feeding the backlight inverter circuits, if you do have 12vdc then the inverter circuits may be bad, also look for bad caps. see example of a couple years old failed monitors: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
You still need to replace the caps with stuff leaking out, you may read 12vdc but the meter will not show AC ripple riding on the 12vdc, you need the scope to see that ripple. As far as the inverter board is concerned, there should be one surface mounted fuse, check to see if they are blown, they will be labeled with Fxx. Pictures will help. You still need to replace the caps with stuff leaking out, you may read 12vdc but the meter will not show AC ripple riding on the 12vdc, you need the scope to see that ripple.
