Not able to get an IP from the network when connecting thru the Targus docking station model ( APC51US) i am on windows 7. note that i am using the same cable adn it work fine when i connect it to the laptop directly

In order to use the ethernet card on your Docking Station ( or Port Replicator), you must first disable any internal Ethernet cards.
To do this:
- Type "Network Connections" in the Start Menu seach box, and press enter.
- Right click on your computer's internal ethernet adapter (i.e. "Local Area Connection" & select "Disable"
