Not booting I have built a new pc, I turn it on and it does not boot up properly it gets to just before it should display login and then restarts over and over. The harddrive in it is from my old pc and has windows on it and all the drivers from my old stuff. Could that be why or is the motherboard faulty??? Thanks alot Kit

The problem here is you need to format and reload the operating system and all the software in order for the new motherboard to work with your old hard drive , because you cannot just simply put an old hard drive to a new motherboard without formatting the hard dirve and reloading all software, because a new motherboard needs a fressh installation and fresh operating systme on your hard drive so they will work together..

You can also try to reset the BIOS by doing the jumper settings to bring everyhting back to its defaul settings, and trying a different processor will also help so we can isol;ate if this is a problem with the motherboard or with the processor....

a reformat might not be required if you don't want to lose style="display:none;">a reformat might not be required if you don't want to lose data, but usually you need to reinstall windows. you can always use a live cd of linux like Ubuntu to back up your data without effecting the hard drive. The actual cause of your fault is incompatible drivers.
