The volume control does give you more control on the volume of the speakers but yea if you just get a cable going from one end to the other and it doesnt have a volume control it will work no problem just control the volume from the task bar, it will work i can guarantee that because i have the same speakers and i tried it out and works perfectly fine, you cant tell the difference because there isnt one just control from task bar!
