There are two heaters in your water heater. Both are located behind the small panels on the side. The thermostats and the heaters are located there.
With the power confirmed to be off, you can check the continuity of the heaters and the thermostats. That should tell you what is bad. The two thermostats on some heaters are not identical and sometimes one will be fed from the other.
Since you indicate the heater is producing no hot water, it is most likely that you are not getting power to any of the heaters. It is rare that both heaters will burn out at the same time. Either the water heater is not getting power or if the water heater has a master/slave thermostat arrangement, the Master thermostat is probably defective.
In self-igniting gas hot water heaters, is it possible to manually light the pilot by hand, when the push-button. reset process doesn't work? If so, how is the gas controlled? I didn't see any control knobs on the unit. What other troubleshooting options are available for this problem? The water heater powers on, but doesn't ignite after reset.
