Nothng happens when I step on the foot peddle
I have an old White sewing machine which sews beautifully. I was sewing, ran out of bobbin thread, wound thread onto the bobbin and put it in the case and went to begin sewing again and nothing happened when I stepped on the foot peddle - - it was completely silent. The light is on so i know it's getting electricity. Any suggestions?

Check the pins on the machine plug to make sure none have been pushed in, check the cables for any breaks but make sure the plug is out of the wall first, if you can undo the plug on the lead to check it all well and good, failing that take the foot control and lead into a sewing machine shop so it can be tested
