Here is a blog on a model 499 Daisy, but it might apply to your model: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:pKNIzPC4S54J:www.georgia4h.org/safe/disciplines/BB/Daisy%2520499B%2520Take%2520Down_small.ppt+removing+the+spring+and+anchor+on+a+model&cd=4&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&source=www.google.com
The blog was supposed to be about how to make a plunger fork, but I couldn't find it, but some of the blog may help and make sense. It sounds like you will need a plunger fork to accomplish this. I found this answer to a question on Daisy's site, and it has a toll-free number you can call:
My CO2 gun is leaking where you puncture the CO2 cylinder? Can I fix this myself? Sometimes you can replace the face seal and this will stop your gun from leaking. The face seal is the seal the pin comes through and seats against the cylinder. To receive some replacement seals at no charge call customer service at 800-713-2479.
Customer support should be able to advise you about the safe procedure to remove the spring, and if it's possible without a plunger fork, but from what I read, I think you'll either have to buy or make one. Good luck, and hope this helps.
