o doing that. It is in the normal SATA set. There are two sets of two SATA on that Mobo. One is labeled SATA-1-SATA-2, the other is Raid SATA1-Raid SATA-2. So that maxtor is in SATA1. I have another 1tb drive from Western Digital Caviar Black 32mb that I have been attempting to get my system to recognized for hours. I have tried jumping pins 3-4, and 5-6, no jumpers at all. Sometime bios recognizes it by giving me an error, sometimes bios passes right by it without acknowledging its existence at all. I have tried putting it in the Raid SATA-1, and doing so with all the differant jumper settings. Nothing. The raid setup utility says that I do not have the supported hardware. (yes, I checked the board, it is a SK8V, yes I checked BIOS to see if it was on, it is). The drive is brand new from WD (my other one failed in 2 days, started clicking, wasn't recognized in windows anymore with external usb-sata adapter). other then switching the SATA cable out for another for the 1tb, testing that drive in another computer, or pulling my hair out, is there anything else I may have overlooked. Thanks guys. Casey
