off switch for the cruise control flashes constantly. The cruise control will not switch on or off. The cruise control will not work. At the same moment this occurred, the check engine light came on and has remained on. Probably unrelated, but a few weeks before this event, the right channel of the stereo quit working. If you balance all the way to the right, you get almost nothing coming from the right speaker. Once in a while the right channel works, and then goes away again. My question is about the cruise control, I included info on the check engine and stereo info in case they are related

The easiest and cheapest way to narrow down your problem would be to stop in at a Pep Boys, Autozone, or similar parts retailer, and have them do a free scan for trouble codes, that should point everyone in the right direction. If you have a local mechanic you trust, they may do it for you as well. Before you do, Check all fuses are good, and lift the hood and look in the area of the cruise control for any loose/bad connections, as well as any vacuum lines that may be cracked, or have come off as well. If/when you get the code scan done, write them down, and if cure for problem isn't obvious, get back to me/us and we will be glad to assist you further.
