My new 15" Hanspree TV won't turn on/off or adjust the volume via our cable remote. I can change channels perfectly well. This is not a problem on any of our other TVs. I do see people have issues with remotes in general because they say Hanspree doesn't have a sky code... but I've never had to program my cable remote before! And the channels do change! Is this the same issue? Something else? Fixable?

Thanks but I no longer require assistance. I tried to remove my post but it does not seem possible. I no longer need assistance because I sent the TV back. There is no solution as there is no universal remote code --- ridiculous for a brand new TV set that most people are probably going to want to use with cable!
