Hi, I'm new to the Ducati family and am looking to purchase a used 2007 Ducati Monster S2R 1000. It has 2744 miles and this picture the seller sent me kind of concerns me. This was the explanation he gave: "I asked one of the Ducati techs and he said the discoloration by the vent hose is oil that wispers out of the hose. He said that it was a characteristic of Ducati’s such as mine and if you don’t see something like that, then you should be concerned. (i.e. engine not breathing properly) Further, I wiped it with a clean cloth and almost all of the coloring came right off. (it looked much darker in the picture compared to real life)". Is this really the case with the '07 S2R 1000? Should I worry and forget about this bike? Also, is $8400 US too much? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
