If you do not get an error code then you cannot know its the Laser. I suspect you have a main board fault which is not allowing the firmware to be read. You should be able to hear the laser make a whirring sound as it starts to spin. If no sound then the laser IS at fault. These units have a very long life before the laser gives trouble. With no error code, its gonna be hard to diagnose over the internet.
