Older ArtZ II with ADB cable won't talk to my laptop
I was given a UD-0608-A 6" X 8" ArtZ II tablet. It is apparently an older (late 90's) one with an ADB (Apple Desktop Bus) cable, not a USB or serial plug. I have the right ADB connector on my HP/Compaq NX9010 business laptop, but when plugged in and the driver/software (downloaded over internet) is run (setup) the 'on' light does not come on (won't work). Do I need an older software/driver since this one only has options for Serial and USB listed? Or will this only run on a MacIntosh computer?....Or is there a certain procedure or trick I need to follow ?

I'm thinking this is a Mac-only tablet. The ArtZ II for Windows came with an rs232 (old mouse) port at the end of the cable, in addition to a built-in spot where the power plug attaches. You didn't mention the power plug on yours, so the Mac version of the tablet must have the power routed in through the cable.
Short answer, the reason the light isn't coming on is because the tablet isn't receiving power. If you go get a cross-platform adapter card for plugging in Mac hardware on your HP, it *might* work.
